Born in Geelong, Australia, I grew up in an intrepid family with a deep wanderlust for the world. At the age of seven I was travelling with my parents and brother, living across the United Kingdom, Morocco, Egypt, Spain, Portugal, and Greece before settling in Santa Margherita, Italy. These formative experiences immersed me in rich cultural tapestries that inspired my curiosity, adventure, and burgeoning creativity.
I hold a Fine Arts degree in Drawing, Art History and Theory, and Printmaking (1998), and spent the early part of my career in London, working front-of-house in two contemporary galleries. This led to an invitation to join Fromental, a new London studio attracting attention with its stunning hand-painted silk chinoiserie wallpapers. Over 16 years with Fromental, I worked between London, China and the United States, collaborating with leading interior designers and private clients to create bespoke artworks for prestigious international projects.
This time deeply shaped my artistic approach, giving me a unique fluency with traditional Eastern materials and techniques, while allowing me to explore a distinctly Western sensibility in mark-making.
In 2020, my family relocated from Melbourne to Victoria's Surf Coast. With a home surrounded by rugged coastal landscapes, I've ignited my personal practice—exploring the intricate relationships between our history, cultural inheritance, and the natural world.
